R/GA Sydney partnered with Nike for the launch of their new Mercurial Football boot to create the Speed Room. An innovative digital and physical experience that invited Australia's promising young footballers to battle it out in a head to head speed drill. 3D cameras and sensors were used to measure the players performance across the drill in real time.
We invited Australia’s rising stars to stress-test the boot in the kind of speed drill only Nike could deliver: an innovative, head-to-head battle that blurred the lines between physical and digital.
We custom-built our towering, three-story Mercurial Speed Room outside the biggest football event of the year - Australia versus Greece, at Sydney’s Olympic Stadium. Inside, athletes competed in full view of thousands of passionate football fans.
On my first day at R/GA Sydney, I was tasked to bring to life the concept in order to pitch to the client. We were responsible for all aspects of the design of the experience, from art direction to event invitations and decals for the structure.
